Scandinavian day

This year’s first issue of Észak Journal for Nordic Studies is all about children. Let’s celebrate them together!
Do Scandinavian (and Hungarian) children still read, or do electronic gadgets take up all their free time? What are the latest trends in Scandinavian children’s literature? Why is the Scandinavian way of pedagogy considered as a prime example to follow? Our renowned Scandinavian and Hungarian guests will discuss these and similar topics. For the small ones, there will be a meeting with Pettson and Findus, a kids’ craft corner and a screening of the Danish cartoon movie The Incredible Story of the Giant Pear (dubbed in Hungarian).
One of Scandinavia’s most celebrated author of children’s literature, Lars Joachim Grimstad will also be meeting his readers of all ages. His books and many other Scandinavian children’s books are going to be available for sale at discounted prices throughout the event. Our guests will also be able to enjoy an exhibition of the best drawings submitted to Észak’s drawing competition.
The day will be rounded off with a choir concert featuring Nordic tunes organized by ERöMŰVHÁZ – Wesselényi17: KVVKamarakórus, Kalevala Kórus, Inferno Minor Kórus.
